A quick-reference table converting common gram amounts to cups for every ingredient on GramToCup, grouped by category. Use it to scan several ingredients at once — for one specific amount, or the full breakdown on a single ingredient, the calculator or that ingredient's own page will get you there faster.
How to Use This Chart
Find your ingredient below, then read across to the gram amount closest to your recipe. Each value is computed from that ingredient's density — the same figure the calculator above uses — so this chart and the calculator will always agree.
Grams measure weight; cups measure volume. The two are only connected through each ingredient's density, which is why the same cup amount weighs a different number of grams for every ingredient below. These values use the same density data as the calculator and the US customary cup (236.59 mL) convention used throughout this site. They're practical approximations, not lab-exact figures — how an ingredient is measured (spooned and leveled vs. packed) can shift the real result, the same way it does on every ingredient page.
250g of all-purpose flour is approximately 2.00 cups, based on a density of 125g per US cup.
Because grams measure weight and cups measure volume. 250g of honey is approximately 0.74 cups, since honey is much denser than flour (340g per cup vs 125g per cup) — the same weight takes up less volume.
They're accurate approximations based on typical ingredient density, not laboratory measurements. Actual weight per cup can vary with brand, humidity, and how an ingredient is measured — see each ingredient's own page for its specific measuring technique.
